LASG List 12 Traffic Offences And Their Fines, Including Over-speeding, Overtaking And Overloading

Lagos State Ministry of Transport list 12 traffic offences and their fines, including over-speeding, overtaking and overloading.
The Lagos State Ministry of Transport has warned motorist against violating the State traffic laws by listing out fines and punishments for twelve (12) traffic violations, including those caught wrongly overtaking other vehicles.
A post shared by Lagos State Commissioner for Transportation, Mr. Oluwaseun Osiyemi on his official Instagram page also listed the penalty for overloading of commercial vehicles and over-speeding.
Below are 12 traffic offences and their fines
1. Wrong overtaking of other vehicles
Fine: ₦100,000.
2. Driving on the walkway
Fine: ₦50,000
3. Overloading of the commercial vehicle on the highway
Fine: ₦50,000.
4. Parking on the walkway
Fine: ₦20,000.
5. Non display of Hackney permit
Fine: ₦20,000.
6. Violation of routes by commercial vehicle
Fine: ₦20,000.
7. Non display of routes on commercial vehicles
Fine: ₦20,000.
8. Failure to yield of right of way of pedestrian at a Zebra crossing
Fine: ₦20,000.
9. Failure to give way to traffic on the left at the roundabout
Fine: ₦20,000.
10. Driving vehicle with a non-functional head lamp
Fine: ₦20,000.
11. Motorcyclist resisting arrest
Fine: ₦20,000
12. Exceeding prescribed speed limit
Fine: ₦100,000
This list shared by the Commissioner for Transportation isn’t a comprehensive one as traffic offences like driving against traffic (one-way) and driving on BRT lanes aren’t included.
