FRSC Marks 37 Years Of Excellence, Thanked The Media For Timely Propagation Of Road Safety Policies
The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), commonly known as Road Safety, is celebrating major milestones recorded in its 37 years of daunting task of changing bad driving behaviours and entrenching safe road ideals in Nigeria.
In a statement by the Corps Public Education Officer, Olusegun Ogungbemide, FRSC paid exceptional tribute to its large pool of stakeholders, particularly the media for their invaluable support, manifested in timely propagation of road safety policies and messages to the public.
The Corps Marshal noted that FRSC has enjoyed a long-standing partnership with the media, which has been instrumental in disseminating vital information to the public on road safety, reporting on the activities, and amplifying all public awareness campaigns of the Corps.
Since its establishment on 18 February 1988, the FRSC has worked tirelessly to reduce road crashes by promoting road safety awareness through the implementation of numerous initiatives, including public enlightenment campaigns.
LASG Issues Stern Warning To Motorists Using Covered Plate Numbers, Fake VINs
The Lagos State Government has issued a decisive warning to motorists (private and commercial) using fraudulent Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) and concealing their registration plates, directing them to desist forthwith.
The Special Adviser to the Governor on Transportation, Hon. Sola Giwa, who made this known in a statement, emphasize that these infractions constitute a flagrant violation of established traffic laws and pose grave security risks to the state.
He further reiterated that no legal provision sanctions the use of counterfeit VINs or obscured number plates, warning that defaulters will be met with the full force of the law.
Giwa urged Lagos motorists to immediately remove any coverings from their number plates and cease the use of fake identification numbers. He warned that failure to comply will result in swift arrest and prosecution.
Sanwo-Olu Announces 30% Reduction In Red Line Fare, Agbado To Oyingbo Now N1000 From N1500
Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Tuesday announced a 30 percent reduction in the fare of the Red Line, bringing a trip between Agbado and Oyingbo to N1000 as against N1500 before the announcement.
Sanwo-Olu, who made this commissioning of the newly constructed Abule Egba Bus Terminal, said this rebate, is aimed at encouraging wider adoption of the Red Line and providing some relief to commuters amidst current economic realities.
“We have looked at the numbers and have therefore decided to have a 30 per cent reduction on the fare paid on the Red Line. This means that a trip from Agbado to Oyingbo will now cost N1000.”
“Today because it is about transportation, we’ve done our numbers we feel good and so I want to announce that today we’re reducing fares on our Red Line immediately, we will be doing a 30% reduction to bring down the price from N1500 to N1000,” the Governor said.
