Huawei-JAC JV Launches Flagship Maextro S800 To Challenge Mercedes-Maybach In The Chinese Market
Huawei-JAC Joint Venture (JV) launches flagship Maextro S800 to challenge Mercedes-Maybach in the Chinese market.
Priced between $136k and $205k, S800 is available in 4 and 5-seat version and extended-range electric vehicle variants.
At the unveiling, Maextro announced a Pioneer Plan, a special model limited to just 599 units.
Deliveries of the Pioneer Plan begins on June 24th 2025, while general deliveries will start in mid-August 2025.


Maextro, an ultra-luxury electric vehicle brand created by Chinese tech giant, Huawei Technologies Co., and Anhui Jianghuai Automobile Group (JAC), has finally unveiled its first-ever model, the Maextro S800 ultra-luxury sedan.
Boasting a cutting-edge technology with opulent design, the new flagship Maextro S800 sedan joins the Nio ET9 and Yangwang U7 as the latest challenger to the Mercedes-Maybach EQS in the lucrative Chinese market.


The S800 promises a spacious interior and a refined driving experience. Sitting on a Wheelbase of 3370 mm, the imposing electric luxury sedan is 5480 mm long, 2000 mm wide and 1536 mm high.

Priced between RMB 1 million to RMB 1.5 million (approx. $136,000 and $205,000), Maextro’s new flagship is available in five-seat and four-seat version as well as extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) variants.
Like from its earlier teaser, the exterior features a two-tone paint and elements such as vertical and horizontal headlights with starry elements, which can also be found on its door handles, and interior ceiling.



Inside, premium features includes Panoramic starry sky roof for the second row, Rear projection screen, Fixed track system, Folding tables, Refrigerator compartment and a fingerprint-secured password box for storing valuable items.
The pure electric S800 boasts a 95 kWh battery pack that delivers up to 702 km (436 miles) electric-only CLTC range. Ultra-fast charging allows 10% to 80% in about 12 minutes.



The EREV variants gets a 1.5-liter turbocharged petrol engine that is not mechanically connected to the wheels. It supports 800V architecture and 6C fast charging, enabling its 65 kWh battery to charge from 10% to 80% in 10.5 minutes.
