Mercedes-AMG GLE Slammed Into A Median In Lagos After Driver Lost Control Of The ₦200 Million SUV

Mercedes-AMG GLE 43 driver slammed into a road median in Lagos after losing control of the N200 million SUV.
The GLE SUV slammed into the median on the opposite lane after driving over the one in its path at high speed.
No casualty was reported and LASTMA notes that efforts are now being made to remove the trapped vehicle.
The driver of a Mercedes-AMG GLE 43 Coupe luxury SUV worth N200 million rammed into a road median while driving along Airport Road during an early morning showers on Wednesday April 2nd 2025.
In its traffic report, the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) said the incident happened after the driver lost control of the wheels of the high-performance SUV.
“A lone accident involving a car has occured around 7&8 by the pedestrian bridge,” LASTMA said in a traffic report on its Facebook handle on Wednesday.
“The driver reportedly lost control of his vehicle and rammed through the median. Earnest efforts are now being made to remove the vehicle, while our men monitor traffic situation around the scene.”

While no casualty was reported, footage taken at a scene of the crash shows that the trapped GLE SUV slammed into the median on the opposite lane after driving over the one in its path at high speed.
A Mercedes-AMG GLE 43, a high-performance variant of Mercedes-Benz GLE (formerly Mercedes-Benz M-Class), sells for between N65 million and N80 million for a used 2017 to 2019 model in Nigeria. But a brand new one can cost as much as N200 million.
