While the cause of the crash remained unknown, the SUV was pictured on its roof with broken windows.

Premier League and Hull City winger Sorba Thomas reportedly sustained no injuries after being involved in a car crash close to the newly promoted Hull City’s training ground earlier on Friday, the club has confirmed in a statement.

The 27-year-old walked away from the crash unscathed after his grey Land Rover Defender overturned on Millhouse Woods Lane in Cottingham. While the cause of the crash remained unknown, the SUV was pictured on its roof with broken windows.

“Hull City is relieved to confirm that Sorba Thomas is unharmed following a road traffic accident near to the club’s Cottingham training ground,” Hull City said in a statement,

“The club is aware of images of Sorba’s car circulating on social media and can reassure supporters that he has sustained no injuries and emerged from his vehicle completely unscathed,” it added.

In a statement, Humberside Police said officers and emergency services remained at the scene, noting that the road remains closed. Police advised motorists to avoid the area to allow emergency services to operate effectively.

The road traffic accident involving the recently signed winger comes a day before Hull City takes on Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in the Premier League at 3pm on Saturday. Thomas was signed by the Tigers from Stoke City on transfer deadline day for a fee of £10.5 million.
