Nigeria Police Recovered 1,519 Vehicles Reported Stolen Through e-CMR Platform In 2024
The Nigerian Police Force said a total of 1,519 stolen vehicles were recovered nationwide in 2024, using the e-CMR platform. 52 vehicles have also been revealed since the beginning of 2025, while many stolen vehicles are being investigated for recovery.
Force Public Relations Officer ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, made this known in a press statement issued on Thursday January 30th 2025.
He reaffirms the Force’s commitment to putting e-policing strategies such Police Rescue Me App, Police VGS emergency App, and the reactivation of the Central Motor Registry Portal (e-CMR) to curb vehicle-related crimes and enhance its crime-fighting capabilities.
e-Auction Of 891 Forfeited Vehicles : EFCC To Review Complaints, Says 4 Million Nigerians Participated
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), has promised to review the complaints of some Nigerians who participated in the just concluded electronic auction of 891 forfeited vehicles.
The anti-graft agency had on Monday January 27th 2025 conducted an e-auction of forfeited vehicles through its accredited auctioneers, with over four million Nigerians reported to have participated.
Among the complaints received by the Commission were the inability of some citizens to access the websites of the auctioneers and outrageous bid prices.
While currently awaiting the report of the Auctioneers, the Commission blamed the sheer number of participants in the exercise and unstable internet service in parts of the country for the unsavoury experiences.
68-km Green Line Project : LASG Signs MOU With FG, Set To Begin Exploratory Work
The Lagos State Government has has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Federal Government’s Ministry of Finance Incorporated (MOFI) to kickstart exploratory work on the development of the Green Line project.
The Lagos State Commissioner for Information and Strategy. Mr. Gbenga Omotoso made this known at a Citizen/Media Stakeholders forum organised recently by the Ministry.
He added that the 68-km Green Line once completed will connect Marina to the Lekki Free Trade Zone. The Green Line is will carry over 500,000 passengers daily at launch, rising to over a million as demand grows.
LASTMA Impounds 120 Illegally Parked Vehicles On Lagos Island, 10 Tankers Around Dangote Refinery
Operatives of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) over the weekend dislodged all illegally parked tankers around the Dangote Refinery and across the Lekki Free Trade Zone.
In a statement, the Agency said that the decisive enforcement operation, described as a proactive measure, followed repeated warnings issued by the Lagos State Government against such infractions.
In addition to the enforcement at the Refinery and Free Trade Zone,
LASTMA also removed 120 illegally parked private cars and commercial buses from bridges stretching from Ebute-Ero to Ejalonibu.
