Shatta Wale Detained Over Tax Evasion Linked To Purchase Of His Yellow Lamborghini Urus

Ghanaian music star Shatta Wale detained over tax evasion linked to the purchase of his yellow Lamborghini Urus SUV.
Lamborghini in question has now been seized at the request of the US. after being tied to the proceeds of “criminal enterprise.
Following the recovery of the yellow Lamborghini from his home, Shatta Wale purchase of yet another Lamborghini Urus in purple.
Ghana’s Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) has detained music star Shatta Wale in a tax investigation linked to his purchase of a yellow Lamborghini Urus, which had now been seized at the request of the US. after being tied to the proceeds of “criminal enterprise.
In a statement on Thursday, Wale’s management said the artist was detained over “tax obligations”, adding that he “presented himself voluntarily” to Ghana’s EOCO on Wednesday afternoon.
“We want to assure all fans and the general public that his legal team is fully engaged and actively working with the authorities to resolve this matter,” the statement said.
After his 2019 Lamborghini Urus was seized earlier this month at the request from the FBI and the US Justice Department, Wale denied knowledge of connection to Nana Kwabena Amuah, who is currently serving a jail term in the US for fraud.
Shatta Wale, born Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jr., said he was “third-party owner” of the $150,000 Lamborghini Urus SUV, noting that he did not know who had shipped it to the country.
Before the news of recovery of the Lamborghini from Shatta Wale’s home was announced by EOCO, the Ghanaian reggae-dancehall artist took to his Instagram page to announce the purchase of yet another Lamborghini Urus SUV – saying “They Said the Feds !! So I got another one in purple”
