Nissan Launches X-Trail Nismo In Japan And Its All Looks No Power
Nissan has launched the 2026 model year X-Trail Nismo in Japan.
The X-Trail Nismo embodies the philosophy of all Nismo road cars by combining race-bred performance with everyday driving. Its aerodynamic performance and aesthetics are derived from racing technology, while the exclusive tuning provides engaging driving performance.
The X-Trail Nismo is tuned to deliver excellent cornering capabilities, acceleration enjoyment, and a refined ride. The suspension has Kayaba Swing Valve shock absorbers. This technology balances the need to minimize body roll—a challenge specific to tall SUVs—while maximising ride comfort.
The e-4ORCE all-wheel drive control technology is specially tuned for the X-Trail Nismo. It increases the distribution of drive to the rear wheels and controls the front tires, improving line tracking when accelerating through corners. In addition, the acceleration characteristics and distribution of power between the front and rear wheels are adjusted for each driving mode, providing driving pleasure in a wide range of driving conditions.
X-Trail Nismo includes a specially tuned Vehicle Control Module (VCM) that offers a SPORT mode that prioritizes speed response and an AUTO mode designed for medium and high acceleration—allowing drivers to enjoy both speed and comfort in everyday situations.
The vehicle uses Michelin Pilot Sport EV tires and 20-inch Enkei wheels, while the power steering is optimised to complement the suspension and tires.
Inside, comfort meets sportiness with black and red accents and optional Recaro sports seats.
The X-Trail Nismo uses the same powertrain as the standard X-Trail e-4ORCE. The system consists of a 1.5-litre three-cylinder gasoline engine that serves only as a generator for the two electric motors and their 2.1 kWh battery. Power is 157 kW/215 hp, and torque is up to 525 Nm, which is enough to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in about seven seconds.
