Oba Elegushi’s New Rolls-Royce Phantom VIII EWB: Is It The Exclusive $3 Million Centenary Edition?

A trending video showing Oba Saheed Elegushi, the traditional ruler of the Ikate-Elegushi Kingdom in Lagos, arriving at an event in a Rolls-Royce Phantom VIII (Series II) Extended Wheelbase (EWB) has drawn attention online because of the car’s similarities to the ultra-exclusive Phantom Centenary Private Collection.
Fitted with the custom licence plate bearing the name “IFAWUYI”, the Rolls-Royce Phantom VIII EWB recently acquired by the Lagos monarch features a stunning two-tone black-over-white finish, similar to the colour scheme of the Centenary Private Collection, which is limited to 25 units worldwide.

As expected, the footage, posted by eagle-eyed car spotters, has drawn attention online, with many asking whether the monarch’s car is one of the exclusive 25 Phantom Centenary examples created in 2025 to celebrate 100 years of the Phantom nameplate.
Unveiled in October 2025, the Phantom Centenary Private Collection features a distinctive exterior that combines Arctic White and black paintwork with a Super Champagne Crystal finish. Its rear seats also feature intricate artwork that took 12 months to develop and was completed with 160,000 stitches.

In addition, the anniversary model features a Spirit of Ecstasy made from solid 18-carat gold and plated in 24-carat gold, 24-carat gold and white enamel badges, and bespoke wheels engraved with 25 fine laser-etched lines each, representing the 25 cars in the collection.
From the visible exterior, there are no identifying details confirming that Oba Elegushi’s car belongs to the Phantom Centenary Private Collection. This is particularly evident in the wheels, which feature the optional 22-inch seven-spoke alloy design with a black inner finish, polished outer lip and centre cap.

For now, the Elegushi’s car can only be described as a Phantom VIII EWB, while its Centenary Private Collection status remains unverified. Confirmation would establish whether the monarch owns one of the rarest Phantom EWB-based commissions, which cost over $3 million, compared with the standard Phantom VIII, priced from over $550,000.
Importantly, British luxury marque Rolls-Royce also fitted every Phantom VIII built in 2025 with a special centenary chassis plaque. This marked the anniversary across the model range, although it did not make every Phantom built in 2025 part of the 25-unit Private Collection.
