A throwback photo shared by Distory_Daily shows a fuel attendant filling up the fuel tank of a customer’s now iconic Peugeot 403 sedan at a Mobil Gas Service Station in Lagos in 1961.
As seen from the photo shared, the Pininfarina-styled Peugeot 403 sedan featured a fuel tank cap hidden inside the left rear tail light. The lower part of the tail light is flicked up to access the approximately 24 gallons (90 liters) tank capacity.

Marketed by Peugeot between May 1955 and October 1966, over 1.2 million (a total of 1,214,121) 403s were offered in a spacious and modern range of sedans, station wagons, convertibles and pickups.
Peugeot 403 was powered by a 1,468cc four-cylinder engine that produced 58 horsepower (43 kW). The power increased to 65 horsepower (48 kW) in 1958.
