Range Rover Electric Unveiled With 333-Mile Range, 542 HP And 22-Minute Fast Charging

Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) has officially taken the wraps off the highly anticipated Range Rover Electric, marking a major step in the British luxury SUV brand’s transition into the zero-emission era. Order books are open, with prices starting at around $138,000 for the base trim.

While boasting near-silent electric performance, the Range Rover Electric looks almost identical to its internal-combustion-engine (ICE) siblings. It retains the distinctive styling that has made the flagship SUV one of the world’s most recognisable luxury SUVs.

Under the skin lies a massive 118.5-kWh battery pack paired with an advanced 800-volt electrical architecture, giving the luxury behemoth an EPA-estimated 333 miles (536 km) of driving range on a single charge.

The new Range Rover Electric utilises dual electric motors producing a whopping 542 horsepower, allowing the heavy, high-riding luxury SUV to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 4.3 seconds.

Thanks to 350-kW DC fast-charging support, wealthy buyers can charge the battery pack from 10% to 80% in just 22 minutes. It can also add up to adding 137 miles (220km) of range in just 10 minutes under suitable charging conditions.

The Range Rover Electric retains the legendary go-anywhere capability of its ICE-powered sibling. It can wade through water up to 900 mm (35.4 inches) deep, maintaining the model’s renowned all-terrain capability.

“The defining characteristic of Range Rover Electric is its ability to perform across every surface, with effortless comfort and refinement. From challenging low‑grip and rough terrain to smooth, high‑speed roads, it remains incredibly composed and refined, with a real sense of control and confidence,” said Matt Becker, Vehicle Engineering Director at JLR.

Inside, the cabin largely retains the familiar Range Rover design, featuring a 13.1-inch curved touchscreen with EV-specific displays and menus, alongside physical controls including a volume knob and dedicated Terrain Response controls.

Expect to see these silent luxury cruisers on Nigerian roads in the nearest future, where Range Rover remains a popular choice among affluent motorists. The Range Rover Autobiography, marketed by Coscharis Motors, won the Luxury SUV of the Year award at the 2025 Nigeria Auto Journalists Association (NAJA) Awards.
