Rolls-Royce Launches Limited Edition Wraith Kryptos Collection (Photos)

Rolls-Royce cars are limited on their own but that doesn’t stop the company from making limited edition cars. Now, let’s enter the Wraith Kryptos. What makes this bespoke model different is the fact that it incorporates a series of encrypted messages. Only two people know the answer to what the cipher will reveal. The entire collection will consist of just 50 cars.
The name Kryptos is gotten from ancient Greek and it means hidden, mythical or unseen. In a statement, Designer Katrin Lehmann said.”I’ve always been fascinated by the notion that you can communicate messages that are understood by only an elite few, using symbols, pictograms, and ciphers. Finding the key becomes integral to appreciating the full meaning of an item that can otherwise be viewed simply as a work of art.”
The encrypted cipher inside the Wraith Kryptos Collection is meant to take clients on a journey of discovery and intrigue. The only two individuals that know what the cipher means is Lehmann and Rolls-Royce CEO Torsten Muller-Otvos. The CEO said that he looks forward to seeing “whether any of our clients will crack the code!”
The cipher is most visible on the dashboard where it covers most of the central sections. It also fades from the passenger side towards the driver’s side. The hidden text is engraved on a dark brushed metal base and is best viewed from the driver’s position. Another, equally impressive cipher has been integrated into the headliner thanks to a bi-color starlight arrangement. There’s a dynamic lighting feature that flows from the front to the rear of the headliner. A similar cipher theme can also be seen on the front headrests.
Although limited to just 50 units, Rolls-Royce has not given any details on the price yet so it remains unknown.
