The assembly of locally-made fastselling Peugeot lineup of vehicles comes nearly four years after joint owners Dangote Group received approval from the Nigerian regulator.
The newly built Green Field Assembly Plant, which can assemble 120 vehicles per day across two shifts, will produce the 301, Landtrek, 3008, 5008 and the new 508.
“This dream has started with the re-launch of the Peugeot brand in Nigeria as well as the local assembly of the 301 at our new Kaduna plant and thereafter the introduction of the Landtrek, 3008, 5008 and the new 508.”
Other owners of the Indigenous automaker include the Kaduna and Kebbi States Government as well as the Stellantis Group, the parent company of Peugeot.

Dangote Peugeot Automobiles Nigeria Limited (DPAN) hopes to churn out Peugeot cars in excess of 100,000 units per year at the newly built Green Field Assembly Plant in the future.
“Nothing is being spared to enable market recapture, hence all hands are on deck to ensure not just survival but also continued growth in a market with potential for cars in excess of 100,000 units per year and growing.”
The Dangote-Sinotruk Truck Assembly Plant in Ikeja has also began churning out trucks, some of which were recently purchased by the Lagos State Government for LAWMA. The CKD [Complete Knock Down] factory currently has the capacity to produce 10,000 trucks annually.
