Stallion Nissan Bags ISO Certification for Quality Manangement

Stallion NMN Limited, the Nissan manufacturer and national sales company was yesterday decorated with the ISO/TS – 16949:2009 Certification for world class quality management system.
The certification is in recognition of the company’s excellence in vehicle assembly management, sales & marketing of Nissan cars, pick-ups, buses, SUVs (Sport Utility Vehicles) and LCVs (Light Commercial Vehicles.)
Standard Organization of Nigeria (SON) who gave this certification in Lagos described Nissan as the first automobile company in Nigeria to attain this status.
A member body of International Organization for Standardization (ISO), SON is responsible for delineating quality management requirements for design and development as well as production, service and installation of automotive-related products in Nigeria.
The ISO/TS – 16949:2009 Certification is applied throughout the automotive supply chain including Stallion NMN vehicle assembly process, the plant’s design center, assembly lines, corporate headquarters, distribution centers and customer-specified parts and service arenas, SON explained.
Stallion NMN Managing Director Parvir Singh has described the certification as another first for the vehicle manufacturing and sales company who in April 2014 became the first indigenous motor plant to churn-out wholly homemade Nissan badge automobiles, moments after the Federal Government introduced the National Automotive Policy.
He said: “Stallion and Nissan Sub-Saharan Africa had painstakingly worked together to achieve this goal, promising to rebuild industrialization in Nigeria and contribute to the growth of the manufacturing sector.
Also reacting to the accomplishment, the plant Managing Director Adetokunbo Aromolaran said: “the ISO certification status would further reinforce the confidence of the buying public in our products and services just as we are resolute in offering exceptional customer experience and keeping with Nissan tagline, ‘Innovation that Excites.’
Stallion NMN is an outcome of a Memorandum of Understanding between Renault-Nissan and West African Conglomerate Stallion Group to produce Nissan vehicles from the Lagos facility where Almera, NP300 Pick-ups, NV350 Urvan bus and exotic Patrol SUV are currently being assembled.
