Stellantis Appoints New CEO Who Is A Familiar Face
Stellantis has decisively appointed Antonio Filosa as the new CEO, taking the helm after Carlos Tavares’ resignation last year.
On December 1 last year, Stellantis announced that Carlos Tavares was no longer at the helm of the giant company with immediate effect. After ‘differences of opinion’ between Tavares and the Board of Directors, Tavares and Stellantis had agreed to end the marriage. Now, half a year later, Stellantis has found a new CEO.
The new CEO of Stellantis is called Antonio Filosa. He is no stranger, because until recently, he was Chief Operating Officer (COO) of both the North and South American departments of Stellantis. Filosa was also the Chief Quality Officer and CEO of Jeep. Incidentally, Filosa will have to wait about three weeks before he can pull the strings. As of June 23, he will take office as chairman of the board.
Industry veteran Filosa has the tough task of turning around Stellantis’ slumping sales. Filosa also takes on the role at a time of uncertainty for the industry, including import duties and the volatile EV market.
