Tesla Delivered A Record 936,172 Electric Vehicles In 2021, An 87% Increase Versus 2020 - autojosh

Tesla delivered a record 936,172 Vehicles In 2021, an 87% increase versus the 499,647 delivered in 2020.

It delivered a record 308,600 EVs in Q4, a 71% increase from the number delivered a year earlier.

Tesla does not break out its deliveries by country, but its recent growth was propelled by sales in Europe and China.

Tesla on Sunday said it delivered 936,172 vehicles from January to December, an 87% increase versus the 499,647 delivered in 2020, despite the computer chip shortage that has disrupted auto production around the world.

In the fourth quarter alone, the EV maker said it delivered 308,600 electric vehicles, a 71 percent increase from the number delivered a year earlier.

Tesla overwhelming share of the deliveries surpassed Wall Street analysts’ expected deliveries of about 266,000 cars in the fourth quarter, and about 855,000 for the year.

The US electric company didn’t break out sales or production numbers by region, but much of its recent growth was propelled by sales in Europe and the world’s largest auto market, China.

Out of the total 936,172 vehicles delivered from January to December, Model 3 and Model Y deliveries amounted to 296,850 in the Q4 of 2021, and 911,208 for the full year. Deliveries of its flagship Model S sedan and Model X SUV represented just under 3% of Tesla’s total deliveries in 2021.

Back in October, Tesla’s market value surpassed $1 trillion dollar mark, making the EV Maker more valuable than the combined worth of all publicly listed automakers on the planet.
