Tesla-Inspired Chinese Automaker Launches All-Electric SUV

If there is one thing the Chinese are good at ,its copying and they do it exceptionally well .
A Chinese automaker –Xiaopeng ,has created an electric SUV that looks so much like the Model X .Xiaopeng’s SUV uses the same 18650 battery cell format as Tesla’s SUV, but with Samsung li-ion cells. This results in a vehicle with less range; Xiaopeng’s 300 km (186 miles) compared Model X’s proposed 474 km (295 miles).
The next thing you are probably thinking is sue them! .Telsa would not be suing anybody as their patents were made open source in 2014 (thanks Elon Musk !),to create more opportunities for anyone to use them to advance electric vehicles technology.
Check out the comparison below :

The Chinese automaker also intends to introduce driver assist and self-driving capabilities similar to Tesla Autopilot. Interestingly enough, they recently hired Junli Gu, who worked at Tesla as the machine learning lead for Autopilot.
What do you think ?
