The Drive Pilot System Earned Mercedes-Benz The ‘Golden Steering Wheel 2024’ Award
Drive Pilot, Mercedes-Benz’s system for highly automated driving, has received significant recognition in the automotive industry. The magazines “Auto Bild” and “Bild am Sonntag” awarded it the “Golden Steering Wheel 2024” for being the best innovation in this field.
Ola Källenius, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Mercedes-Benz Group AG, was present at the award ceremony and received the award. From the editor’s point of view, with the updated version of Drive Pilot, Mercedes is one step closer to autonomous driving, and as a German brand, it would significantly improve this technology worldwide. The award ceremony took place at a gala ceremony on November 7, 2024, at the Axel Springer House in Berlin.
Mercedes-Benz previously presented the latest evolutionary phase of the Drive Pilot to selected media during a press drive event at the end of September. The new version of Drive Pilot can now, under certain conditions, follow the driver ahead on the highway up to 95 km/h.
