Toyota Corolla Nightshade Edition Returns For 2024 Model Year

The Toyota Corolla is gaining some extra pizzazz for 2024 with the return of the Nightshade edition, which brings blacked-out accents and flashy bronze wheels. The stealthy trim package was dropped from the Corolla lineup for 2023 after debuting for the 2020 model year.
The package brings a distinct darkness to the Corolla lineup and builds on the SE trim. The modifications start with the bronze-finished 18-inch wheels and continue with the gloss-black sport mesh grille and blacked-out Toyota badges. The side mirrors and rear badges are also finished in black, as are the shark fin antenna, the lower diffuser, and the Vented Sport Wing. The back end also gets a new rear lip spoiler to help lend the Corolla a sporty appeal.
As for the interior, the 2024 Corolla Nightshade models feature sport seats with sport fabric inserts, Toyota Safety Sense 3.0, and an eight-inch infotainment touchscreen. The special edition is available with a JBL Premium Audi and the SE Premium packages, which adds a powerful moonroof, Qi wireless charging, blind spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert.
Though the package gives the Corolla a far sportier look, nothing changes under the hood. The Corolla Hybrid Nightshade can be had with front- or all-wheel drive and comes with a 1.8-liter engine with two electric motors. The gas-only Corolla carries on with the 2.0-liter four-cylinder making 169 horsepower. All models get a continuously variable transmission with a unique “first gear” that enables more confident acceleration.
The sedan can be ordered in Midnight Black Metallic, Classic Silver Metallic, and Ice Cap. The Corolla Hatchback has more options, including two-tone paint combinations. The available hues include Windchill Pearl with Midnight Black Metallic Roof, Classic Silver Metallic with Midnight Black Metallic Roof, and solid Midnight Black Metallic.
