Toyota Seriously Considering Dropping The bZ4X Name

Toyota’s bZ4X electric crossover name hasn’t gained much popularity. Consequently, a name change for the model is expected soon, as shared by Patrick Ryan, Toyota Canada’s regional manager for Quebec.
During a recent discussion with Canadian automotive media, he indicated the electric vehicle will adopt a new name. Although he did not specify the timing, it might occur for the 2026 model year since the current MY 2025 has already been unveiled with the bZ4X designation.
The current name is an abbreviation for “Beyond Zero,” the “4” represents its size, and the “X” indicates that it is a crossover, notes Motor Illustrated.
Ryan, however, did not say whether the name change would be just regional or if it was something Toyota planned to change globally, although the latter would seem a bit more logical.
