Tyre Killer : Oyo Introduces One-way Tyre Spikes To Deter Motorists Against One-way Driving (Video)
Tyre Killer : Oyo Govt introduces one-way tyre spikes to deter motorists against one-way driving.
When driven over from the correct direction, the spikes retracts, allowing the vehicle to pass freely.
But, when approached from a wrong direction (as in the case of one-way driving), it can burst the tyre.
To prevent motorists from driving the wrong way on one-way roads, the Oyo State Government has started installing ‘One-Way Tyre Spikes.’ This one here is located along Idi-Ape.

While the state government has yet to issue an official statement about the new traffic enforcement tool, this measure will deter motorists from driving against the traffic on a one-way road.
How it works
When driven over from the correct direction, the teeth (spikes) simply retracts, allowing the vehicle to pass freely without busting the tyre.
But, when approached from a wrong direction (as in the case of one-way driving), the teeth lock up, denying access or even bursting the tyre.
