Xiaomi Aims For Global Dominance After Huge Success In China

Xiaomi is already making waves as a car manufacturer in its home country of China, and the intention is that people far beyond will soon be able to buy cars from the tech giant. The rest of the world, including Europe, is now on the Chinese calendar.
Xiaomi made its name primarily as a smartphone manufacturer but has recently started building cars as well. We got to know the first model last year: the Porsche Taycan-like Xiaomi SU7. Xiaomi managed to attract quite a few customers with that model, and many enthusiastic stories are coming out about it. The latter doesn’t say it all, but if even Ford CEO Jim Farley is happy about it… The second model, the Xiaomi YU7, was recently unveiled. Essentially an SUV brother of the SU7. Are you interested? The good news is that Xiaomi will almost certainly sell cars here, too.
For the first time, a specific year has been mentioned for the introduction of global markets. It should happen in 2027, Reuters reports, based on an interview that Xiaomi Group CEO Lu Weibing had with the Chinese media Jiemian. There is a good chance that Europe will also be included. A European market introduction of Xiaomi suddenly seems a step closer than expected. Previously, there was talk of ‘2030 at the latest. ‘
