Menace Of One-way Driving : Lexus GX driver driving against traffic collides with another vehicle in Lagos.
Casualty reported by LASTMA. Incident happened on Monday around Lekki-Epe Express area
State Taskforce had earlier reiterated the need for all motorists to desist from driving against the traffic on a one-way road.
It noted that the penalty for one-way driving is outright forfeiture of such vehicle to the government without an option of fine.

The driver of a Lexus GX SUV driving against traffic (one-way driving) collided with another vehicle around Lekki-Epe Express area of Lagos State on Monday January 27th 2025, resulting in casualty.
Footage taken at a scene of the crash shows a badly damaged Lexus GX SUV with crumbled bonnets as well as broken headlights, windows and windscreens.
“An SUV drove against traffic and collided with another vehicle in the process with one casualty. The Casualty has been attended to and our Men are on ground Managing the resulting traffic,” the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) said in a traffic report on its Facebook handle on Monday.

While giving an update of the incident, LASTMA said :
“The vehicles involved in the earlier reported accident have been towed off the road, and traffic is better. Our Men are strategically positioned.”
The Lagos State Environmental and Special Offences Unit (Taskforce) had earlier reiterated the need for all vehicle owners in the State to desist from disobeying traffic laws, particularly by driving against the traffic on a one-way road.
While urging all motorists and vehicle owners to desist from driving against traffic, the State Taskforce noted that the penalty for one-way driving is outright forfeiture of such vehicle to the government without an option of fine.
