Used vehicles import, bulk cargoes helps Tincan Island Customs to generate over ₦1.5 trillion revenue in 2025.
Command collected over ₦1.569 trillion for the year 2025, surpassing its target of ₦1.5trn by ₦55.83 billion.
The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Tincan Island Port Command, has announced it collected ₦1.569 trillion in revenue for the year 2025, surpassing its target of ₦1.5 trillion by ₦55.83 billion.
The Customs Area Controller (CAC), Comptroller Frank Onyeka, made the announcement during a press briefing at the command on Tuesday, 23 December 2025.
Comptroller Onyeka described the achievement as a milestone that reflects discipline, professionalism, and collective commitment among officers and men of the Command.
“This growth did not only come by chance, but it is also the outcome of deliberate reforms, improved processes, and collective responsibility. Our major contributors remain bulk cargoes, general merchandise, and importation of used vehicles, which constitute a significant volume of trade passing through Tincan Island Port,” he said.
He also stressed that trade facilitation and revenue generation are complementary, noting that transparent and predictable processes improve compliance.
The CAC highlighted that regular engagement with stakeholders, including importers, licensed customs agents, terminal operators, and shipping companies, helped resolved challenges, clarified policies, and built trust.
Comptroller Onyeka emphasised that enforcement remained a top priority, with intelligence-led operations and vigilant monitoring resulting in significant seizures of prohibited and improperly declared goods.
“Let me state unequivocally that the attainment of our annual revenue target does not in any way signify relaxation of our operational standards or enforcement activities. The Command will not ease its vigilance even for the remaining part of the year”, Comptroller Onyeka stated.
The Area Controller also expressed appreciation to the Comptroller-General of Customs, Adewale Adeniyi, for his leadership, strategic direction, and consistent institutional support, noting that the Service’s reform and modernisation agenda provided the framework for the Command’s achievements.
He further commended stakeholders for their cooperation and improved compliance, while also praising officers and men of the Tincan Island Port Command for their discipline and dedication to duty.
Looking ahead, Comptroller Onyeka reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to consolidating its gains, deepening transparency, blocking revenue leakages, strengthening enforcement mechanisms, and contributing effectively to the Federal Government’s broader economic and fiscal objectives.
