“We’ll get it back on the road” : Elon Musk praises Tesla Cybertruck’s build quality for containing explosion.
Investigation shows that fireworks, gas tanks and camping fuel were used to blow up the Cybertruck outside Trump Hotel.
Despite the massive blast, the Cybertruck’s battery-pack didn’t catch fire and the four tyres were still inflated.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk has praised the build quality of the Tesla Cybertruck after the explosive-laden futuristic truck contained the blast outside the front doors of the Trump International Hotel in Las Vegas on Wednesday January 1st 2025.

“We have now confirmed that the explosion was caused by very large fireworks and/or a bomb carried in the bed of the rented Cybertruck and is unrelated to the vehicle itself. All vehicle telemetry was positive at the time of the explosion,” Elon Musk wrote in a post on X.
Despite the massive blast that reportedly killed the driver and injured seven, the explosion did little damage to the body of Cybertruck, with Elon Musk boasting that Tesla can “get it back on the road.”

“The battery pack never even caught fire and the tires are still inflated! Once we get this Cybertruck back to Tesla, we’ll buff out the scratches and get it back on the road,” Musk wrote on his X page.
Musk had earlier blasted the driver for choosing the Cybertruck for his terrorist attacks. He wrote :
“The evil knuckleheads picked the wrong vehicle for a terrorist attack. Cybertruck actually contained the explosion and directed the blast upwards. Not even the glass doors of the lobby were broken.
