2024 Chevrolet Blazer EV ‘Police Pursuit Vehicle’ ready for patrol, the brand’s first pursuit-rated all-electric Police car.
Its all-wheel-drive propulsion system delivers 498-hp and 531 pound-feet of torque, top speed of 210 km/h (130 mph).
A 105 kWh battery provides an estimated 250 miles of range on a full charge. A DC charger provides 71 miles of range in 10 minutes.
Chevrolet has given more insight on the all-new Blazer EV Police Pursuit Vehicle (PPV), the brand’s first pursuit-rated all-electric car in more than 60 years of tailoring vehicles for the rigors of law enforcement duty.
A recently released YouTube video by GM provided an overview of all the features of the all-electric crime-fighting vehicle that is based off the range-topping 2024 Chevy Blazer EV SS retail model.
The 2024 Chevy Blazer EV PPV comes with a 400-volt all-wheel-drive propulsion system, which delivers 498 horsepower and 531 pound-feet of torque. Its top speed is around 210 km/h (130 mph), though GM said that could be increased with aftermarket equipment.
A 105 kWh battery provides an estimated 250 miles of range on a full charge while a DC charger with 190 kWh will help the all-electric police patrol vehicle get 71 miles of range in 10 minutes.
The all-electric Police Pursuit Vehicle comes with emergency lights, radio equipment, and computer, though GM says the Chevrolet Blazer EV PPV could idle for 20 to 50 hours on a single battery charge.
The Blazer EV PPV will be offered with specific police content including skid plates, police-rated tyres, steel wheels and additional emergency equipment support.
“Chevy’s commitment to meeting the needs of law enforcement is rooted in decades of cooperation with police agencies across North America,” Ed Peper, U.S. vice president of GM Fleet said last year at the unveiling.
“This purpose-built electrified Blazer EV PPV will have excellent pursuit performance, the reliability of a Chevrolet and fast-charging necessary to be a high-performance patrol vehicle.”
Production of the 2024 Chevrolet Blazer EV PPV begins in the first quarter of 2024, with pricing expected to be announced later, though the range-topping 2024 Chevy Blazer EV SS it is based on starts at $66,000.
