The very first-production Rolls-Royce Phantom VII returned to its place of creation at the Home of Rolls-Royce in Goodwood for a befitting restoration project as part of activities to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the flagship’s first unveiling in 1925.
This 7th-generation Phantom, the very first Rolls-Royce car under BMW Group-ownership, rolled off the assembly at exactly one minute past midnight (00:01 am) on 1 January 2003.

“Two decades ago, the first Phantom VII emerged from the Home of Rolls-Royce in Goodwood. Today, in Phantom’s centenary year, the motor car returns to its place of creation — entrusted once more to the hands of our master craftspeople. This fitting homecoming honours the unwavering dedication that has defined the icon of icons – a century of connection, craftsmanship, and care,” said Rolls-Royce.

Three months after rolling off the assembly line, this very Rolls-Royce Phantom 7 was shipped from Southampton to Perth, from where it undertook a 4,500-mile drive across Australia in the hands of its lucky new owner.
The owner’s thoughts upon their Rolls-Royce Phantom 7 completing this epic journey? : “A grand tourer in the truest sense of the words”.

Since that historic moment in 2003, a total 10,327 units of all variants of the Rolls-Royce Phantom VII, Extended Wheelbase (EWB), Coupe, and Drophead Coupe was produced until 2017.
Phantom 7 has since been replaced by the latest-generation flagship Phantom 8 ultra-luxury limousine, which was launched by Rolls-Royce Motor Cars under BMW ownership in 2018.
