Rolls-Royce Submerges N2 Billion Phantom In Swimming Pool To Celebrate 100 Years Of Flagship Sedan
Rolls-Royce submerges N2 billion Phantom 8 Extended in swimming pool as part of activities to celebrate 100 years of flagship sedan.
Stunt dubbed the “Diving into Rock ‘n’ Roll Legend” is a tribute to Phantom’s role in music history over the past century.
Due to its status as the world’s pre-eminent luxury product, Phantom has been chosen by the most influential figures in musical history.

British luxury marque, Rolls-Royce Motors, has submerged a Phantom 8 Extended in a swimming pool in Tinside Lido, below Plymouth Hoe, as part of activities to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the flagship’s first unveiling in 1925.
Rolls-Royce said this stunt dubbed the “Diving into Rock ‘n’ Roll Legend” is a tribute to Phantom’s role in music history over the past century – spanning every era of modern music, from jazz and rock to rap and R&B.

In a behind the scene video shared by Rolls-Royce, a Phantom Extended that cost up to $550,000 (or about N2 billion in Nigeria) was seen carefully craned into the swimming pool, creating an “Art Deco” landmark that unites cultural history and an icon of modern music.
Due to its status as the world’s pre-eminent luxury product, the Phantom has been chosen by some of the most creative and influential figures in musical history, including Marlene Dietrich, Sir Elton John, John Lennon and 50 Cent.

“From the Golden Age of Hollywood to the rise of hip-hop, over the last 100 years, music artists have used Phantom to project their identity and challenge convention,” Chris Brownridge, Chief Executive, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars.
“Their motor cars often became icons in their own right, with a lasting place in the history of modern music. This enduring connection reminds us that Rolls-Royce and the extraordinary people who are part of the marque’s story are united by one ambition: to make their presence felt.”
