UAE Lawyer Turns His Mercedes-Maybach Van Into Mobile Office With Large Screen To Beat Traffic

An Emirati lawyer, Abdullah Al Nasser, has found an unusual way to beat traffic by turning his Mercedes-Maybach ultra-luxury van into a fully equipped mobile office, where he now conducts legal consultations, holds meetings and stays connected while travelling across the United Arab Emirates.

Instead of allowing traffic to waste his valuable working hours—like the traffic often seen in big cities such as Lagos—the lawyer turned his Mercedes-Maybach luxury van into an office on wheels, allowing him to take his legal services closer to his clients.

The inspiration for this mobile office came after he found himself trapped in a massive gridlock while heading to a legal meeting in Ajman. Instead of panicking, he simply pulled over to the roadside, connected to the internet and joined a virtual conference call.

After rethinking how much of his legal work could be done without being tied to a traditional office, he subsequently transformed the Maybach van into a mobile workspace equipped with a large screen and internet connectivity.

With this setup, Al Nasser can seamlessly tap into the UAE’s advanced digital judicial network, allowing him to review case files, attend virtual court hearings and hold face-to-face meetings with clients while travelling.

Speaking to The National, Al Nasser explained the motivation behind his unusual office. “I can have access to the internet at any time in the UAE, but road challenges can sometimes be an obstacle to our work,” he said.

According to Al Nasser, more than 70 per cent of his legal services are now provided from his office on wheels. He also said his clients can join him inside the van for consultations and discussions about their cases.

“If I have a 30-minute traffic delay, I can meet a client online and give legal consultation,” Al Nasser said. He is now being dubbed the UAE’s real-life “Lincoln Lawyer”, a nod to the famous fictional criminal defence attorney who uses the back seat of his chauffeur-driven Lincoln car as his mobile office.
