26-wheeled World’s Longest Car With Swimming Pool, Helipad Has Been Rebuilt

World’s longest car, dubbed the American Dream, has broken its own Guinness World Record after being restored.
It took two-and-a-half years to restore the dilapidated American Dream into its former glory.
It now measures a whopping 100 feet and 1.5 inches, breaking its 1986 record title by a small fraction.
The massive 26-wheeled World’s longest car, dubbed the American Dream, has finally been restored to its former glory and is ready to cruise.
On 1 March 2022, the super limo rolled in at a length of 30.54 meters (100 ft and 1.50 in), breaking its 1986 Guinness World Record title by a small fraction.
It now boasts a large waterbed, a swimming pool complete with a diving board, jacuzzi, bathtub, mini-golf course, a helipad, and can fit more than 75 people.
In addition, it’s also equipped with several TVs, a refrigerator, and a telephone.
“The helipad is structurally mounted to the vehicle with steel brackets underneath and can hold up to five thousand pounds,” said Michael Manning, who was involved in The American Dream’s restoration.

The super limousine was built in 1986 by car customiser Jay Ohrberg in California and was originally 60ft long. Ohrberg later extended it to 100ft to clinch the world record.
The car went on to feature in a number of films before ending up abandoned at the back of a New Jersey warehouse for years, where it had fallen into a sorry state.
Michael Manning, owner of the Autoseum technical teaching museum in New York, took on the gargantuan task of restoring it.
“Thankfully we had three donor cars so we took one of the hoods.
“We cut them [the donor cars] up, we replaced the whole cab of the car so we could drive it, the engine was replaced, all the tyres were replaced, the helipad was redone, the pool was redone.”
The restored American Dream will now be displayed at the Dezerland Park Car Museum.
“You really couldn’t put it on the road because it’s too long,” Manning said.
“It was built to be put on display.”
