4 FRSC Officers Rescued, 6 Others Still In Captivity

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Tuesday confirmed that four of its officers abducted by bandits in Nasarawa State on Monday had been rescued with the help of other security agencies. FRSC Officers Rescued
The Corps Public Education Officer, Bisi Kazeem, disclosed this to the News Agency of Nigeria.
Twenty six personnel of FRSC were reportedly attacked while traveling from Sokoto and Kebbi States Command of the Corps for a training programme at FRSC Academy, Udi on Monday.
It was gathered that the convoy was heading for the FRSC Academy in Udi when they came under attack. The incidence happened around 8 am at Udege junction, along Mararaban-Udege between Adoka, Nasarawa state.

Two were killed, 10 unaccounted for, eight escaped unhurt and six were injured.
The officials were drawn from Sokoto and Kebbi State commands and were travelling in two buses. This is according to FRSC Corps Public Education Officer (PEO), Assistant Corps Marshal Bisi Kazeem,
He said one of the officials was reported to have died during the attack while another passed on at the hospital.
Kazeem said seven of the attacked officers were currently receiving treatment in Abuja.He also stated that six were still abducted.
“Two died on Monday. Presently, seven officers are receiving treatment in Abuja,” he said.
“The Corps Marshal, Dr. Boboye Oyeyemi, immediately reported the incident to relevant authorities. This was in order for prompt rescue of the kidnapped staff.
