8 Popular Car Models Discontinued In 2023, From Rolls-Royce Dawn And Dodge Challenger To Audi R8 And Ford Fiesta

Year 2023 saw the demise of some modern-era automotive greats like the Rolls-Royce Dawn, Dodge Challenger and the Audi R8 as several automotive brands ‘accelerates’ their plans to become fully electric by 2030.
From luxury cars like the Rolls-Royce Dawn and muscle cars like the Dodge Challenger, here are 8 car models that was discontinued in 2023.
1) Rolls-Royce Dawn
2015 – 2023
Last year, Rolls-Royce ceased production of its Dawn convertible – which is the best-selling drophead in the marque’s history. Image of the final five Dawn examples was shared by Rolls-Royce back in May.
Dubbed as “the world’s quietest convertible”, the Rolls-Royce Dawn Convertible debuted in 2015, following the success of the Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead Coupe.
2) Rolls-Royce Wraith
2013 – 2023
After a 8-year run, the final examples of the Rolls-Royce Wraith dubbed the ‘Black Badge Wraith Black Arrow Private Collection’ also rolled off the production line at Goodwood.
These Bespoke masterpieces, limited to just 12 examples worldwide, was created to mark the end of production of Wraith. In addition, they are also the last V12 Coupé Rolls-Royce will ever make.

In December, the final example of the Dodge Challenger officially rolled off the production line at Stellantis’ Brampton Assembly Plant in Ontario, Canada, concluding the third-generation model’s 15-year run.
The discontinuation of the Challenger also marked the end of platform siblings, the Dodge Charger and Chrysler 300, the latter whose final production model was concluded on December 31, 2023 at the Brampton Assembly Plant.
6) Audi TT
1999 – 2023
In November, the last Audi TT sports car rolled off the production line at the Audi Hungaria assembly plant in Győr, where production started in 1998 with the series production of the Audi TT Coupé.
During its 25 year production run, a total of 662,762 units of TT Coupé and TT Roadster models were built exclusively at the Audi assembly plant in Győr.
7) Audi R8
2006 – 2023
2023 also saw the demise of the Audi R8, a mid-engine, 2-seater sports car that merged jaw dropping design and racing pedigree.
While the first-gen was based on the Lamborghini Diablo, the second-gen of the R8 was based on the Modular Sports System platform shared with the Lamborghini Huracan.
8) Ford Fiesta
June 1976 – July 2023
Ford Motors also discontinued one of its best-selling model, the Fiesta, with the final example rolling off the production line at the brand’s factory in Cologne, Germany, on 7 July 2023.
During its 47 year run, Ford sold over 22 million Fiestas, making it one of the best-selling Ford nameplates behind the Escort and the F-Series.
