₦300m SUV : No Nigerian actress can say her Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon was bought from acting alone – Yemi Solade.

The Nollywood veteran said this during the recent episode of the Honest Bunch podcast co-hosted by Daddy Freeze and Deity Cole.

Priced between ₦200 million and ₦600 million, Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon remains a favourite among Nigerian celebrities.

Nigerian actor, Yemi Solade, has claimed that no Nollywood actress can buy a Mercedes-Benz G-Class (G-Wagon) SUV from acting alone, adding that nobody in the industry gets the paycheck to fund such luxury purchases.

The 65 year old actor made this known while speaking on the Honest Bunch podcast co-hosted by Daddy Freeze, Husband Material, Deity Cole, and Ezinne.

While responding to a question about actresses who drives luxurious cars but are yet to make a mark in the industry, the veteran actor said :

“People come to Nollywood for different reasons. I will continue to focus on the core professionals. Nollywood is not a house we have built for ourselves alone, so those you are referring to are tenants.

“Although we still have some ladies who are professionals in those same categories, but I won’t mention names, they live on what they earn from their producers.

“Nobody makes a lot of money that will give you all of those luxurious cars you have mentioned. I do not know how they make so much money to buy these cars. I know what I earn. In the industry, no actress will say that the G Wagon that she has was bought from the proceeds she got from acting.”

The Mercedes-Benz G-Class (G-Wagon) remains a favourite among Nigerian celebrities. It is priced from over ₦200 million for older models to over ₦600 million for brand new 2025 Mercedes-AMG G63.

Solade’s claim comes nearly 10 months another Nollywood veteran, Bimbo Manuel, said that no one in the industry can buy a Range Rover SUV from acting alone, adding that most of his colleagues who are flaunt luxury rides and mansions online are living “fake” lives.
