The Chairman of the defunct Sosoliso Airline, Victor Ikwuemesi, died today in London, United Kingdom. He died a few days after he was diagnosed with the COVID-19.
A source close to the family confided in our correspondent that Ikwuemesi was admitted to an unnamed London hospital after a brief illness.
He later tested positive for COVID-19 in the result that was released on today (Tuesday).
He was in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) on oxygen since he arrived at the London hospital. The source added: “But when the oxygen was removed for him to eat he couldn’t breathe on his own. So they put him on a ventilator and he died shortly after.”

Sosoliso Airlines Limited was established in 1994. It was a scheduled, domestic, passenger airline. For much of its existence, it had its head office in Ikeja, Lagos State. Originally its head office was on the grounds of Enugu Airport in Enugu.
Sosoliso Airlines operated flights to Enugu, Port Harcourt, Owerri, Abuja and Lagos. Reservations are possible.
The Nigerian government set a deadline of 30 April 2007 for all airlines operating in the country to re-capitalise or be grounded, in an effort to ensure better services and safety.
Seven airlines failed to meet the deadline and as a result, would not be allowed to fly in Nigeria’s airspace with effect from 30 April 2007. These were: ADC Airlines, Fresh Air, Sosoliso Airlines, Albarka Air, Chrome Air Service, Dasab Airlines and Space World Airline.
