Dagrin Died 10 Years Ago Today In Fatal Crash, See The Remains Of His Nissan Maxima Car

Dagrin died on 22 April 2010 after crashing his car, a Nissan Maxima, into a stationary trailer in front of Alakara Police Station, in the early hours of April 14.

His ill-fated car, a 2008 Maxima model, carried the number plate, DAGRIN 03.

Today marks exactly 10 years since Nigerian rap artist Oladapo Olaitan Olaonipekun; popularly known as Dagrin, died in a vehicle accident in Mushin area of Lagos State, Nigeria.





Dagrin, whose style of rapping incorporated Yoruba, English and Pidgin English, died on 22 April 2010 after crashing his car, a Nissan Maxima, into a stationary trailer in front of Alakara Police Station, in the early hours of April 14, 2010.

Dagrin was initially admitted at Tai Solarin Hospital, Mushin before being transferred to Lagos University Teaching Hospital; (LUTH) at Idi Araba.

At Lagos University Teaching Hospital, doctors made serious efforts to save his life.

But the rapper, also known as “Barack O’Grin“, as well as “Fi mi le Jo”, later died from his injuries eight days after.





His ill-fated car, a 2008 Nissan Maxima model, carried the number plate, DAGRIN 03.

Dagrin died at the age of 25. He is one of several Nigerian artists that lost their lives through car accidents.

Other notable celebrities that died through fatal car crashes includes MC Loph; CD John; Chris Jeyibo; Friday Ugwu (Okaka De Don/DJ Kross); Duke “LinChung” Oliver, Henry Okoro, etc.
