Ondo CP prevents deputy governor from leaving the Government House with official vehicles.
Deputy governor, who has now defected to PDP, claimed he personally paid for the vehicles.
Ondo state Commissioner of Police Bolaji Salami on Saturday led a team of policemen to stop Deputy Governor; Agboola Ajayi; from leaving the Government House in Akure with official vehicles.
According to the Police boss, the orders to prevent him from leaving with the vehicles was from above.
Ajayi is expected to contest governorship election against the governor on the platform of the PDP.
The deputy governor had wanted to leave the Government House after claims of no longer feeling safe in the premises.
In a trending video, the CP was seen telling the Ajayi he won’t allow him to leave with the vehicles.

Ajayi then fired back, telling the CP that his defections is non of his business.
“If I have defected, what is your own? CP, are you the chairman of APC? Are you the chairman of PDP? What is your concern if I defect?
“I have tried all constitutional and acceptable means to prevent this crisis. You are being used by the governor to deprive me of my constitutional right. I am highly disappointed that a policeman of your caliber can be used like this.
The deputy governor also told the CP he personally paid for the vehicles. He told him not to repeat what happened in the state 37 years ago.
“I personally paid for this vehicle. You should not have put yourself in this mess. Let me tell you; you cannot repeat what happened in this state in 1983; because Ondo State people will resist you and your emperor with everything.”
Ondo State governor Akeredolu; in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary; denied asking the CP to stop Ajayi from leaving the Govt House.
