Kaduna State Government Issues Quit Notice To All Car Dealer Stands

The Kaduna State Government has issued an eviction notice to all car dealer stands within the metropolis, directing them to relocate their business premises to approved designated areas. The news comes to a shock as the dealers complained that moving to the site will affect their business. Furthermore, they are not happy about the development of the State Government.
Rasheed Kamal, who operates a car sales outfit along Ahmadu Bello way, said although they had received a verbal eviction order from government officials. In a statement, he said, “the Car Dealer’s Union in Kaduna is still mediating over the matter’’. He further added “Some of the outfits had a legal certificate of occupancy of their business premises and have sunk millions of naira into their businesses. As such, just asking people to relocate elsewhere may be pretty difficult to swallow”.
The State government allocated 3 locations which are in Kakau, along Kaduna-Abuja road, Millennium City and Rigachikun areas with a 3,000 square meters, 2,000 square meters and 1,000 square meters land spaces for interested car dealers, depending on their capacity. The government has agreed to issue a certificate of occupancy (C-of-O) to dealers who are able to develop their stand to at least 70 per cent completion
