German Autogiant Mercedes has announced the pricing for the flagship all-electric EQS, an electric variant of the popular and fast-selling the Mercedes-Benz S-Class limousine.

The Mercedes-Benz EQS, the first all-electric member of the new S-Class family, will be available in two variants, the base 450+ and the top-of-the-range EQS 580 4MATIC. EQS 450+ and 580 4MATIC models will also be offered to customers in Exclusive and Pinnacle variants.

The Mercedes EQS will go on sale before the end of the year. Base EQS 450+ will start at $103,360, and this price rises up to $109,560 for the Pinnacle Level. Pricing for the more powerful range-topping EQS 580 4MATIC starts at $120,160, and it rises up to $126,360 for the Pinnacle Level.

According to the EPA, the 107.8-kWh-equipped 580 4MATIC will travel 340 miles while the single-motor 450+ with the same battery-pack will go 350 miles before needing a charge.

In comparison to its competitors, the Porsche Taycan can do 227 miles while the Audi e-tron GT can go 238 miles on a full charge. The Tesla Model S Long Range version has 405-mile range while the Lucid Air Dream R AWD has an impressive 520 miles of EPA range.

The Mercedes-Benz EQS luxury electric sedan is currently being built on the same assembly line with the 2021 flagship S-Class sedan and limousine at automaker’s “Factory 56” in Germany.

One of the the most impressive features on the EQS is the massive and optional 56-inch Hyperscreen. The pillar-to-pillar screen is the centerpiece of the Mercedes’ latest generation MBUX infotainment system.

The MBUX ditches nearly thirty (30) physical buttons in Mercedes cars in favor of a completely digital in-car user experience. It adds voice, hand gesture, gaze controls, fingerprint sensors, as well as other additional safety features.
