Reacting to a recent tweet regarding LASTMA officials’ operations and the use of the LASG-TMS handheld device, the State government has provided more clarification within the context highlighted.

In a statement, the State government explained that the :
“TMS is designed to enable officials capture traffic offences in real time without engaging offenders on the road and effectively provides video and picture evidence of traffic violations as they are being committed.
“TMS also eradicates the incessant disputes between alleged offenders and our Officers on what really occurred on the roads, where alleged violations occur.
“Offenders are electronically notified of processed violations against their vehicles, with the opportunity to view evidence before making fine payments for the traffic violations or choosing to challenge them.
“The TMS handheld device shown in the tweet is one of the devices available to LASTMA officials to effectively capture traffic violations whilst also ensuring their safety.”
