Bugatti has delivered the final Chiron Super Sport 300+, a limited-edition hypercar built in honor of the model’s record-breaking 304.773 miles per hour top speed run.
All the 30 examples of the Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 300+ Hypercars are now delivered to their new owners, who spent around $3.6 Million each for the privilege.
Super Sport 300+ roared into the record books in late 2019 when Bugatti’s official driver Andy Wallace, stormed to 304.773 mph (490.484 km/h) at Volkswagen’s Ehra-Lessien proving ground.
“Mind-blowing speed. Who would have thought that a car could do that”, Andy Wallace said, after the mind-blowing record-breaking run.
The Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 300+ is based on the Chiron. To achieve its uncharted top speed of 304.773 mph (490.484 km/h), Bugatti boosted the Chiron’s 1480-hp 8.0-liter W16 to 1579 hp and created a new longtail bodywork to reduce the aerodynamic stall by 40 percent.
In addition, Bugatti’s team of world-class engineers also made refinements to the software governing the engine, gearbox, powertrain and turbochargers.
In comparison, the stock Chiron tops out at a limited top-speed of 236 mph (380 km/h) and 261 mph (420 km/h) if the second “speed” key is inserted to remove the electronic limiter.
Christophe Piochon, President of Bugatti Automobiles, said:
“In the long history of Bugatti, there are vehicles that come to define their era. The Type 35 transformed motor racing, the Type 41 Royale redefined opulence, the Type 57 SC set new standards for design, and now there is the Chiron Super Sport 300+, hitting speeds that were long thought to be impossible in a production car.
“Its achievements have secured it legendary status in the Bugatti history books, and we’re delighted to have seen all 30 examples of the Chiron Super Sport 300+ delivered to some of our most passionate customers.”
