Lamborghini Recalls All Countach LPI 800-4 Because Glass Engine Cover Could Fly Off
Every Lamborghini Countach LPI 800-4 in the market recalled because of glass engine cover could fly off.
Those glass panels sit above an electronically assisted 6.5-liter V-12, which provides a total output of 803-hp.
Lamborghini said that the defect originated from an issue with the supplier’s bonding of the glass panels.

Just 112 Lamborghini Countach units are being sold globally, with each having a jaw-dropping price of $2.6 million.

Italian sports car maker, Automobili Lamborghini, has recalled all of its reincarnated Countach LPI 800-4 in the market over an issue relating to the hypercar’s glass engine cover that could separate from the supercar while it was on the move.
Lamborghini said was first notified of the defect on October 10, 2022 from a customer in Qatar. Following an investigation, Lamborghini learned that the defect originated from an issue with the supplier’s bonding of the glass panels.

The glass engine cover panels are four in number, and they sit above an electronically assisted 6.5-liter V-12 engine that allows the 803 horsepower Countach to reach 62 mph from a standstill in just 2.8 seconds, and a top speed of 221 mph.
The recall affects every Lamborghini Countach LPI 800-4 hybrid supercar in the global market, including nine in the United States.


Customers will receive a notice from the Italian sports car brand later that week, who will take their cars for inspection and a replacement glass panels if they are required.
The all-new Lamborghini Countach LPI 800-4 celebrates the visionary design that revolutionized modern sports cars forever. Just 112 units of the Countach are being produced globally, with each of the limited-edition Countach reportedly starting at $2.6 million each.
