French hypercar maker, Bugatti, is celebrating a production milestone as the Chiron Pur Sport mid-engine two-seater sports car, the most agile member of the Chiron family, reaches the halfway mark. The automaker recently delivered car number 30 of a total production run of 60 units to its new owner in North America.
Unlike the Bugatti Chiron, designed for straight-line acceleration and top speed, the more agile Chiron Pur Sport is designed to attack corners at high speed on winding roads or the racetrack.
To celebrate the production milestone as well as its unrivalled handling and state-of-the-art all-wheel drive technology, Bugatti took a Chiron Pur Sport for a four-wheel drift that saw all its four Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2R tyres billowing smoke.
In a footage shared by Bugatti, the Pur Sport launches off the line with full force as it began to execute a perfectly controlled and precise drift maneuver that will adorn the track with a large letter ‘C’.
“‘Drifting The C’ is a high-speed celebration in true BUGATTI form and style. The spectrum of performance of the CHIRON family is affirmed with the Pur Sport showcasing its core capabilities in being the most agile BUGATTI family member.
“And ‘Drifting The C’ also honors the sideline ‘C’ signature aesthetic – an iconic BUGATTI style that has shaped and informed a design lineage dating back to the 1920s.”
The Bugatti Chiron Pur Sport, with its proud C-line signature, is limited to just 60 examples, all of which have been spoken for despite the estimated price of approximately $3.5 million.
Powering the Chiron Pur Sport is the infamous Bugatti’s 8.0-liter quad-turbocharged W-16 engine, which delivers 1,480 horsepower. This engine takes the Chiron Pur Sport to a top speed that is electronically limited to 350 km/h (218 mph).
