Lexus Driver In Ogun Hits A Car, Use His SUV To Kill Owner During Minor Argument - autojosh

Lexus driver in Ogun hit car causing damage to the rear light, purposely used his SUV to hit owner during minor argument.

After the act, he ran away with his vehicle to his father’s house, where he was arrested by the police on the 20th of December.

The vehicle the suspect used to commit the crime, a Lexus SUV, was also recovered and taken to the station.

Suspect transfered to Homicide Section of the State criminal investigation department for further investigation and prosecution.





A 26-year-old suspect, Adeyemi Babatunde, has been arrested by men of the Ogun State Police Command for allegedly using his car to kill a 46-year-old driver, Obafunsho Ismail, over a minor argument.

A statement by the Command said that the incident occurred on December 8, 2022, around 8pm when the suspect, who drove a Lexus SUV with a customised plate “Olu of Oya” hit the deceased’s car from the rear and caused damage to the rear light.

Following the crash, the deceased came down from his car and asked the suspect to come down from his Lexus so that they can assess the extent of the damage in order to find solution to it.

“But the suspect, Adeyemi Babatunde, refused to come down from his own vehicle and was making effort to run away. This infuriated the deceased who insisted that the suspect must come down, and he consequently sat on the bonnets of the suspect car in order to prevent him from escaping from the scene.”

“The suspect, Adeyemi Babatunde, later came down and warned the deceased to leave the bonnet of his car if he doesn’t want to waste his life. He then went back to the car, drove on high speed which made the deceased fell down from the car, and the car ran over him,” the statement said :

“Not satisfied, the suspect also reversed the vehicle and ran over the deceased again to ensure that he actually died. After completing the act, he ran away with the vehicle.”





“He was later traced to his father’s house at Idi-ABA area of Abeokuta where he was arrested by men of the State motor traffic Division, on the 20th of December 2022. The vehicle he used to commit the crime was also recovered to the station.”

The Commissioner of police, CP Lanre Bankole, has ordered that the suspect be transfer to the Homicide Section of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID) for further investigation and prosecution.
