The Mazda 6e has been selected among five finalists for the prestigious World Car Design of the Year 2026 award, which is awarded as part of the annual World Car Awards.

Selected by a panel of globally recognized design experts, the Mazda 6e ranks among the automotive industry’s most innovative and emotionally compelling vehicles. This recognition underscores Mazda’s ongoing commitment to human-centered design, artistic expression, and the development of the Kodo—Soul of Motion design philosophy, which is adapted to the electrified age.

The Mazda 6e was selected along with four other finalists from a wide range of eligible vehicles available in several global markets. Finalists are judged on overall design excellence, innovation, and their contribution to shaping the future of mobility.

“We are very honored that the Mazda 6e has been named as a finalist for the World Car Design of the Year 2026 award,” said Jo Stenuit, design director, Mazda Motor Europe. “This vehicle represents the next chapter of Mazda design—elegant, clean, and emotionally powerful, while fully embracing the possibilities brought by electrification.” Recognition from such esteemed global experts is a testament to the creativity and passion of our design teams around the world.”

The top three finalists in the World Car Design of the Year category will be announced on March 3, 2026, via World Car TV.

Winners in all six award categories will be announced on April 1, 2026, during a live ceremony at the New York International Auto Show.

Mazda congratulates all finalists and looks forward to the final results as the global jury of 98 automotive journalists continues its judging process.
