Alfa Romeo Set To Revive Its Racing Institute In Italy

Alfa Romeo is reviving a racing academy under the leadership of the Italian racing team and driver training center Scuderia de Adamich to train drivers at a professional level.

Alfa Romeo wants to remind the world that its cars aren’t just built to look good parked in front of a coffee shop. The company has announced the relaunch of the Alfa Romeo Driving Academy, a serious driver training program based at the Varano de’ Melegari racetrack, located in the heart of Italy’s “Motor Valley.”

The collaboration with the Scuderia de Adamich school is the renewal of a long-standing friendship that began back in 1991. Andrea de Adamich, a former Formula 1 driver, developed one of the most prestigious driving schools in Italy, and now this experience is once again becoming part of the brand’s ecosystem, offering private clients and corporate groups the opportunity to experience the technique in its natural environment—on the race track.

The academy offers four levels of training, allowing participants to gradually increase their pace without unnecessary risk. The program includes the following phases:

* Guida Sicura (Safe Driving)—basic level, where candidates learn how to use the brakes properly, understand the limits of grip and control the car in critical situations

* Guida Evoluta (Evolutionary Driving) – transition to more dynamic exercises for those who have already mastered the basics

* Guida Sportiva (Sports Driving)—this is where the real excitement begins, learning high-speed routes and manoeuvres

* Guida Avanzata (Advanced Driving) – the final phase, where the car and driver are pushed to their limits.

Interestingly, the academy’s fleet is not limited to track-ready vehicles. Students have access to the brand’s entire modern lineup, from the compact crossover Junior and the hybrid Tonale to the recognized benchmarks of handling, the Giulia sedan and the Stelvio crossover.

Alfa Romeo CEO Santo Ficili notes that it is important for the brand not only to sell fast cars but also to teach people to enjoy them safely.

The academy project is also closely linked to the BOTTEGAFUORISERIE initiative, where Alfa Romeo and Maserati are working on new standards of personalization and user experience.
