– The plan is to attract more than 400,000 spectators during the race weekend, similar to the street races in Singapore and Las Vegas, the organizers say.
South Korea was home to the fastest circuit in the world from 2010 to 2013, at the track in Jeongam. Despite the importance of the contract until 2016, they withdrew due to financial reasons, lack of interest from the local public, …
– It is possible to combine Formula 1 races and spectacles with K culture, say the promoters.
They add that K culture refers to the soft power strategy implemented by the authorities to support the country’s growth, exemplified by the international success of K-pop and Korean films.
– We intend to organize cultural events, inviting international artists, to raise the cultural and tourist infrastructure of Incheon to international standards.
In addition to South Korea, Thailand also wants to host Formula 1 from 2028.
