“As Smooth As An S‑Class” : All-new Electric Mercedes-Benz C-Class Debut As The “Sportiest C‑Class Ever”

The all-new electric C-Class, the battery-powered variant of Mercedes‑Benz’s best-selling and most popular model series, has made its debut as the “sportiest C‑Class ever” with unmatched long-distance comfort.
The electric saloon is “as smooth as an S‑Class” on long journeys, Mercedes said of the all-new electric C-Class, whose wheelbase stretches 97 millimetres longer than the ICE-powered C‑Class saloon.

“It’s the sportiest C‑Class we have ever built – while at the same time offering a S‑Class like ride comfort, thanks to AIRMATIC and rear-axle steering,” said Jörg Burzer, the Chief Technology Officer, Development & Procurement.

Designed to rival the BMW i3, the all-new electric C‑Class features eye-catching illuminated iconic grille – first seen on the electric GLC – featuring 1,050 illuminated dots, star-design headlights as well as an expressive GT rear.
Inside, the electric sedan gets a 39.1‑inch seamless MBUX Hyperscreen and a Burmester 3D sound system as standards while an optional SKY CONTROL panoramic roof – with 162 illuminated stars – transforms the roof into a personalised starry sky.

With a new lithium-ion battery pack offering a net capacity of 94.5 kWh, the all-new electric C-Class can cover 762 kilometres (473 miles) and well over 1,000 kilometres (621-mile) with just one brief charging stop.
Thanks to 800-volt technology with a charging capacity of up to 350 kW, the battery-pack can add range of up to 325 kilometres (202 miles) within just 10 minutes through Fast DC charging.

The most powerful model, the 482-horsepower C 400 4MATIC electric will be available at launch. The sporty top-of-the-range model sprints from rest to 100 km/h (60 mph) in 4.0 seconds and a top speed that is electronically limited to 130 mph (209 km/h).
“It is the most powerful and sportiest C‑Class we’ve ever built, offering pure driving pleasure and outstanding real-world range – all while being the perfect sanctuary for our customer,” said Ola Källenius, Mercedes‑Benz Group CEO.
