The new 2027 Mercedes‑Benz EQS has debuted as the first series-production car to feature the steer-by-wire technology, albeit an option for the flagship electric sedan which now has 25 percent of its components newly developed, updated, or refined.

Inside, it boasts a pillar-to-pillar, 55-inch hyperscreen that incorporates the 12.3-inch driver display, 17.7-inch central display and 12.3-inch passenger display while rear seat passengers gets two 13.1-inch screens with new, individually configurable MBUX remote controls.
Options includes the Steer-by-wire tech, which provides better handling and maneuvering when driving and offers a flatter, yoke-style steering wheel, making it easier for the driver to get in and out of the car.

For the first time, the MB.DRIVE PARKING Assist now allows diagonal parking. The system, which also detects free spaces that are not marked by white lines, can now park at speeds of up to 5 km/h, making it around 60 per cent faster than the previous system.
Pricing hasn’t been announced, but series production of the new electric EQS will begin this month at the Mercedes-Benz’s state-of-the-art “Factory 56” plant in Sindelfingen, where the Mercedes-Benz S-Class and the Mercedes-Maybach S-Class are currently being produced flexibly on a single production line.
