Xiaomi Unveils Real-life Concept Of Electric Hypercar That Everyone Can Drive On Gran Turismo 7
Xiaomi has debuted the real-world concept model of the Xiaomi Vision Gran Turismo, a sleek two-door electric hypercar developed exclusively for the legendary Gran Turismo franchise.
Unveiled this month at MWC Barcelona, formerly known as the Mobile World Congress, the Xiaomi Vision Gran Turismo is designed to meet aerodynamic needs without add-on attachments.
The Chinese electronics manufacturer-turned automaker said that the all-electric virtual hypercar concept’s core design principle is “Sculpted by the Wind.”
On the exterior, it features a cross-shaped headlights that seamlessly integrate with the body and a halo-shaped taillight that also integrates into the massive air outlet structure.
Inside, Xiaomi ditches the traditional bucket seat logic found in most hypercars for a cocoon-like cockpit that firmly envelopes the driver – merging the dashboard, door panels, and seats together to form a continuous ring-shaped architecture.
“The overall design maintains its simplicity while revealing an indescribably sleek and incredibly sexy curved aesthetic,” said Kazunori Yamauchi, Producer of the Gran Turismo series.
In addition, the Xiaomi Vision Gran Turismo features the “Xiaomi Pulse”, which wraps 360 degrees around the driver and connects to sensors throughout the vehicle, reading the environment and the driver’s state.
“What impressed me most was how Xiaomi resolved the contradiction between low drag and high downforce. When I saw their complete solutions, I was truly amazed. I believe this car will become a role model for this era.”
With the addition of Xiaomi Vision Gran Turismo to the racing video game, the Chinese brand not only becomes the 36th brand to join the project but also the creator of the 51st Vision Gran Turismo concept vehicle.
It comes two months after Xiaomi announced that its flagship SU7 Ultra has became the first Chinese car to be added to Gran Turismo 7. While the 1548-hp SU7 Ultra electric sedan is currently playable, the new Vision GT is set for a future update.
