Gov. Sanwo-Olu, Ekiti Governor Commissions Red Line Oyingbo Overpass Bridge For Public Use (Photos)
Sanwo-Olu commissions Oyingbo Overpass of the Lagos Rail Mass Transit (LRMT) Red Line project for public use.
The Oyingbo Overpass Bridge, a remarkable T-shaped structure, stretches 717 meters in length.
It separates vehicular/pedestrian traffic from rail traffic, reducing accidents at railway level crossings.
Designed to ease the flow of traffic for commuters, the Oyingbo Overpass connects key areas of Lagos.
Links Murtala Muhammed Way to Apapa Road, offering access to areas like Costain, Lagos Badagry EXPW, 3rd Mainland Bridge.
Governor of Lagos State Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Sunday 5th November 2023 commissioned the newly built Oyingbo Overpass of the Lagos Rail Mass Transit (LRMT) Red Line project for public use.
In attendance at the commissioning ceremony are Managing Director of Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA) Engr. (Mrs) Abimbola Akinajo, Deputy Governor Dr. Obafemi Hamzat and Governor of Ekiti State, Mr. Abiodun Oyebanji.
Speaking on the newly built Oyingbo Overpass, Sanwo-Olu :
“Today, I commissioned the Oyingbo Bridge, a significant step in our journey towards completing and opening the Red Line Rail project.

“The final two months of the year will bring a wave of completed projects and initiatives that represent our commitment to improving the lives of Lagosians,” said Sanwo-Olu.
Stretching 717 meters in length, the Oyingbo Bridge, a remarkable T-shaped structure, connects key areas of Lagos, enhancing accessibility and safety.
The Oyingbo Overpass is designed to ease the flow of traffic for commuters. In addition, it separates vehicular/pedestrian traffic from rail traffic, reducing accidents at railway level crossings.
It links Murtala Muhammed Way to Apapa Road, offering access to Costain, Iganmu Industrial Area, Lagos Badagry Expressway, Herbert Macaulay Way, Third Mainland Bridge, Otto, Carter Bridge, and Ijora.
